Pose of the Week ~ Childs Pose balasana

Child’s Pose  balasana
This is a great resting pose that can be done between more challenging asana.

  • Begin on your hands and knees.
  • Widen your knees just enough to rest the torso gently between your thighs.
  • Place your sit bones on your heels, resting your forehead on the deck.
  • Rest your hands either back by your feet or extended.

What feels good?
Completely relax.

Benefits:
Releases stress, increases circulation to the brain, elongates the back and spine and gently stretches the hips, thighs and ankles.

“I do this all the time, at random intervals during the day when I am stressed. It does so much for me. “ Melanie Neale, author Boat Girl
